ABILITIES: in demonology, is a Great Duke of Hell, ruling 60 legions of demons. He discovers hidden things and knows the future of wars and how soldiers should meet. He also attracts the favor of lords, knights and other important persons. He is sometimes said to control the element of wind.

BACKGROUND: Taking the body of a Priest during the Bubonic Plague, Eligos has been roaming the earth ever since, corrupting true priests and good men and women alike. Over the years his appearance has modernized with the rest of the world, but some of his methods have not. Keeping a very sarcastic and blasphemous outlook on life, he spends his time masked as a trustworthy Priest, in reality leading anyone he can astray.

During the World Wars, he took on the role of a war Chaplin, during which he met Edward Toloni and Joseph Kurtz. Ever since, he has been keeping an eye on the two.

He is depicted in the form of a goodly knight carrying a lance, an ensign and a sceptre (a serpent to some authors, most notably Aleister Crowley).

Alternatively he is depicted as a ghostly spectre, sometimes riding a semi-skeletal (sometimes winged) horse, or the Steed of Abigor. This is a minion of Hell itself, and was a gift from Beelzebub. It was created from the remains of one of the horses of The Garden of Eden.

He escaped Hell all those centuries ago, and if he can help it, no one is sending him back.
